The management of Gombe State University has officially released the approved guidelines, eligibility criteria, and modalities for the 2026/2027 academic session admissions.
The university has set strict structural benchmarks alongside the opening of the online screening portal.
All candidates who chose Gombe State University as their first choice institution on the JAMB portal are required to review the new rules and complete their Post-UTME screening registration.
Key Admission Guidelines & Requirements
Minimum Admissible Age: To qualify for admission, candidates must be at least 16 years old by 30th September, 2026. Underage applicants (below 16) will only be considered if they have an exceptional UTME performance of 320 points and above, subject to signing an indemnity form by the Vice-Chancellor.
General Admission Cut-off Mark: The baseline minimum cut-off mark for admission into the university for the 2026 academic session is 150 points
Admission Completion Deadline: In line with national policy, all admissions into the institution must be concluded no later than 31st October, 2026.
Acceptance Window: Admitted candidates are mandated to accept their offer of admission within 4 weeks.
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements: Candidates applying with NCE, IJMB, Advanced Level GCE, or Diploma qualifications must ensure their certificates are in the exact or related course being applied for.
Registration Dates & Fee
The online registration portal for the Post-UTME screening exercise will be open from Monday, 1st September to Friday, 19th September, 2025.
Eligible candidates are required to pay a non-refundable screening charge of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000) only through the school's online portal.
Step-by-Step Online Registration Procedure
Candidates are to visit the official university portal at http://gsu-edu.com/admission and follow these precise steps:
Enter Details: Input your JAMB Registration Number and click on the 'Get Details' button.
Make Payment: Securely pay the N2,000 screening fee online using an ATM/Debit/Credit Card, Bank Transfer, USSD, or Visa QR code.
Account Creation: Fill out the required online form to set up your UTME/DE screening account.
Register: Review your details and click on the "Register" button.
Data Display: Verify that your captured candidate details are properly displayed on the screen.
Generate Forms: Click on 'Generate Data Form'.
Print Documents: The system will generate a two-page PDF file:
Page 1: Captures your official candidate registration details.
Page 2: Contains your Post-UTME Computer Based Test (CBT) Exam Card.
Important Note for Physical Screening
Candidates must print both pages, attach photocopies of all academic credentials to Page 1, and bring them alongside their original credentials to the physical screening venue. Changes regarding the State of Origin, Local Government Area (LGA), or Date of Birth will not be permitted after your registration has been submitted.
