UMARU ALI SHINKAFI POLYTECHNIC EXTENDS FIRST SEMESTER EXAMINATION FOR FRESH STUDENTS BY ONE WEEK

The management of UMARU ALI SHINKAFI POLYTECHNIC, SOKOTO has officially announced a one-week extension for the commencement of the First Semester Examination for newly admitted students in the 2025/2026 academic session.

The decision, approved by the Acting Rector, Engr. Aliyu Sulaiman Mindaudu, was communicated in an official circular issued by the Office of the Registrar on Saturday, July 11, 2026. According to the institution, the extension is intended to provide additional time for fresh students who are yet to complete their registration and other admission formalities.

FINAL OPPORTUNITY FOR REGISTRATION

The management explained that the extension serves as a final opportunity for newly admitted students to complete all outstanding registration processes before the commencement of examinations.

Students who have not finalized their registration are strongly advised to make use of the grace period, as no further extension will be granted after the new deadline.

REVISED EXAMINATION DATE

Following the adjustment, the First Semester Examination for all newly admitted students will now commence on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Fresh students are encouraged to complete all academic and administrative requirements before the examination begins to avoid any issues that may affect their participation.

MANAGEMENT DIRECTIVE

To ensure the smooth implementation of the revised examination schedule, the Polytechnic management has directed all:

  • College Directors
  • Heads of Departments
  • Examination Officers
  • Faculty members
  • Relevant academic staff

to immediately update their examination timetables and communicate the new dates to all affected students.

The institution urged staff members to ensure full compliance with the revised schedule to prevent any disruption to the examination process.

The official circular announcing the extension was signed by the Registrar, Sirajo Abubakar.

Newly admitted students are therefore advised to take advantage of this final extension by completing their registration and preparing adequately for the examinations scheduled to begin on Monday, July 20, 2026.
