UNIVERSITY OF OFFA, NIGERIA ANNOUNCES MAIDEN CONVOCATION CEREMONY, RELEASES PROGRAMME OF EVENTS
The University of Offa, Nigeria, is set to hold its maiden convocation ceremony from Wednesday, October 7 to Monday, October 12, 2026, with several academic, career, social and ceremonial activities scheduled as part of the programme.
The six-day event will bring together the university's graduates, students, staff, management, invited guests and other stakeholders to mark an important milestone in the history and development of the institution.
The programme will feature a press briefing, counselling and job training, exhibition, sporting competition, special Juma’at prayer, the launching of the university's N1 billion development plan, a convocation dinner and award night, the investiture of the Chancellor, a convocation lecture and the main convocation ceremony.
FULL PROGRAMME OF EVENTS
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2026
The maiden convocation programme will begin with a Press Briefing scheduled to hold from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Senate Chamber.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2026
The second day will feature three major activities.
The Counselling and Job Training will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the University Auditorium.
This will be followed by an Exhibition scheduled for 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Entrepreneurship Centre.
An Intra-University Sports Competition will then take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the University Field.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2026
A Special Juma’at Prayer will be held on Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the University’s Central Mosque.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2026
The Sunday activities will take place at Avalon Hotel & Suite.
The Launching of the UNIOFFA N1 Billion Development Plan is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Immediately after the development plan launch, the university will host its Special Convocation Dinner & Award Night, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2026
The final day will feature the major ceremonial activities of the maiden convocation.
The Investiture of the Chancellor will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the University Premises.
This will be followed by the Convocation Lecture, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The main Convocation Ceremony will then take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the University Premises.
