2025/2026 REMEDIAL SCIENCE PROGRAMME – BAYERO UNIVERSITY, KANO (BUK)

The Management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), is pleased to announce that the sale of application forms for its 1-year Remedial Science Programme for the 2025/2026 Academic Session has officially commenced. This programme is designed to provide a rigorous academic foundation, prepare students for the UTME, and offer a strategic pathway to remedy O-Level deficiencies.

I. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES AND PROGRESSION

The Remedial Science Programme serves as a bridge for students aspiring to enter science-based degree fields.

• Direct Admission: Successful completion of the programme, alongside meeting the university's minimum UTME cut-off points, qualifies candidates for admission into Level 100 science-based degree programmes for the 2026/2027 session.
• Curriculum: Students will receive instruction in Mathematics and three elective subjects selected from Biology, Chemistry, Geography, and Physics.

II. ENTRY AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must hold an SSCE O-Level result or its equivalent, categorized as follows:

• Category A: Minimum of five (5) O-Level credits in relevant science subjects (including English and Mathematics) obtained in not more than two sittings.
• Category B: Applicants with fewer than five (5) O-Level credits. These candidates must remedy their deficiencies during the remedial year before they can be considered for full degree admission.

III. ACADEMIC PATHWAYS AND AFFILIATED FACULTIES

Graduates of the programme can seek admission into approximately 45 science-based degree programmes across various faculties, including:

• College of Health Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• Faculties of Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, and Computing.
• Earth and Environmental Sciences.
• Engineering, Education, and the School of Continuing Education (SCE).

IV. FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS

The following fee structure applies to the application and registration process:

• Application Fee: ₦5,000.00
• Acceptance Fee: ₦2,000.00 (Local) / $10 (Foreign)
• Registration Fee: ₦60,000.00 (Local) / $100 (Foreign)
• Note: Optional courses in English Language Proficiency and Computer Mastery are available at additional charges.

V. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

2. Account Creation: Click "Sign Up" at the bottom of the page.
3. Profile Completion: Log in to upload a recent passport photograph and personal details.
4. Payment: Complete the application payment via Remita (Debit Card or Bank Transfer).
5. Finalization: Click "Check Payment Status" on the portal to finalize the application.
