The Senate of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, held its 331st regular meeting on Wednesday, 28th January 2026. During this session, the university leadership officially considered and approved the resumption timeline for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This announcement follows a brief postponement earlier in January, which allowed the university to complete essential renovation works on campus structures and student facilities. With those improvements now finalized, the institution is ready to welcome both new and returning students to a revamped learning environment.
Phased Resumption Schedule
To ensure an orderly transition and provide new students with dedicated time for registration and orientation, the resumption has been scheduled in two phases.
Sunday, 8th February 2026: New Students (Freshmen) New students are expected to arrive on campus and move into their halls of residence. This early arrival allows freshers to settle in and begin their physical screening and orientation activities before the rest of the student population returns.
Thursday, 12th February 2026: Old Students (Returning) Returning students are officially expected back on campus. This mid-week resumption date ensures that all levels can commence academic activities in a coordinated manner by the following week.
What Students Need to Do Now
The university management has urged all students to strictly comply with these dates to avoid any disruption to the academic calendar. Before heading back to Ekpoma, students should ensure they have completed the following:
- Course Registration and Fee Payment Freshmen should ensure their acceptance fees are paid and admission processes are finalized on the WAeUP.Kofa portal. Returning students should check their portal status to ensure they are cleared for the new session.
- Hostel Accommodation Students interested in university housing should confirm their bed-space allocations. For those who were in the hostels before the renovation break, ensure you have your clearance documents ready for re-entry.
- Documentation New students must bring all original copies of their credentials, including JAMB result slips, O'Level results, and the Affidavit of Good Behaviour which can be downloaded from the university website.
A Smooth Start to the Session
Under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eunice Ebohserhiemen Omozoje, the university management remains committed to maintaining a strike-free and productive academic year. The Senate has emphasized that lectures are expected to commence shortly after resumption, and late registration may attract surcharges or affect examination eligibility.
