UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA ANNOUNCES 2026/2027 HOSTEL BOOKING DATE AND ALLOCATION GUIDELINES
The University of Abuja has announced that its online hostel accommodation booking portal will open on Monday, October 26, 2026, for eligible students seeking accommodation for the new session.
In a notice issued by the Office of the Dean, Student Affairs Division, the university also disclosed that the timetable specifying the dates and times for hostel booking will be released on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
The arrangement is intended to give students sufficient time to pay their school fees, as only students who have paid their school fees will be eligible to book hostel accommodation.
1. Hostel Booking Portal Opens October 26
Eligible students are advised to prepare for the hostel booking exercise and monitor official university communications for the booking timetable.
The university stated that all hostel bookings must be completed through its online portal. Students are not expected to visit the Office of the Dean, Student Affairs Division, to request hostel allocation directly.
2. Special Needs Students to Begin Hostel Allocation October 19
Students who completed the Vulnerable Form for special needs students have been directed to report for hostel allocation from Monday, October 19, 2026.
However, the university emphasised that only students whose medical reports have been authenticated or certified at the University of Abuja Clinic will be attended to.
Eligible students should ensure they meet this requirement before reporting for allocation.
3. Penultimate-Year and IT Students Excluded
The university further stated that students in their penultimate years, including Industrial Training (IT) students, are excluded from hostel accommodation for the session, in line with an earlier approval by the university management.
Affected students are advised to take note of this restriction when making accommodation plans.
4. Procedure for Hostel Bed Space Allocation
Students who successfully book hostel accommodation online are required to print their booking confirmation and take the printout to the Office of the Dean, Student Affairs Division, for bed space allocation.
The university outlined the following important instructions:
- Pay your school fees before attempting to book accommodation.
- Check the official hostel booking timetable when it is released.
- Complete your booking through the university's online portal.
- Do not visit the Dean's office to request hostel allocation without following the prescribed process.
- Submit your booking printout to the Dean's office for bed space allocation after a successful booking.
