ABU RELEASES 2026/2027 POST-UTME/DE SCREENING REGISTRATION GUIDELINES
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has officially released the 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) Screening Registration Guidelines for candidates seeking admission into its undergraduate programmes.
In a Special Bulletin issued by the Office of the Registrar, the university announced that online registration for the screening exercise will commence on Monday, 6th July, 2026. All eligible candidates are required to complete the online screening exercise to be considered for admission into the university.
Unlike a written Post-UTME examination, the screening exercise is designed to verify candidates' academic credentials and ensure they meet the admission requirements for their chosen programmes.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
The screening exercise is open to:
- Candidates who scored 180 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- Direct Entry (DE) candidates applying for admission into Ahmadu Bello University.
Only candidates who satisfy the approved minimum requirements are eligible to register.
SCREENING REGISTRATION BEGINS JULY 6
The university has fixed Monday, 6th July, 2026 as the commencement date for the online screening registration.
Prospective applicants are advised to complete their registration as soon as possible to avoid last-minute difficulties.
SCREENING REGISTRATION FEE
Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000.
Payment can be made conveniently through:
- ATM/Debit Card (Online Payment)
- Any commercial bank nationwide using the generated payment slip
Candidates are not required to visit the university campus to make payment.
HOW TO REGISTER
Eligible applicants should follow these steps:

- Pay the screening registration fee.
- Complete the online application form carefully.
- Upload all required credentials.
- Review your information before submitting the application.
DOCUMENTS TO BE UPLOADED
Applicants are expected to upload scanned copies of:
- JAMB Result Slip
- O'Level Result(s) (Maximum of two sittings)
- A'Level Result (Direct Entry candidates)
- Birth Certificate
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Certificate of Indigene
- Other relevant academic credentials
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Candidates should carefully check that their UTME subject combination matches the requirements of their chosen course.
Applicants with incorrect subject combinations are advised to effect a course change through the JAMB portal before completing the screening registration.
UTME candidates must also enter the grades obtained in the five relevant O'Level subjects required for their programme.
The university warned that submission of false information or forged documents will lead to immediate disqualification from the admission process.
Candidates awaiting O'Level results are advised to wait until their results are released before registering.
FAILURE TO REGISTER MEANS NO ADMISSION
The management emphasized that any UTME or Direct Entry candidate who fails to register for the online screening exercise will not be eligible for admission into Ahmadu Bello University for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
Candidates are therefore encouraged to complete the registration process promptly and ensure that every detail submitted is accurate.
