AKANU IBIAM FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC APPROVES AND RELEASES 2026/2027 ACADEMIC CALENDAR

The management of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, has approved and released the 2026/2027 Academic Calendar for the entire Polytechnic community.

The announcement was made by the Students’ Union Government (SUG), through the Office of the Director of Information.

The approved calendar contains the major academic activities for both the First and Second Semesters, including resumption, registration, lectures, departmental tests, examinations, matriculation, Students’ Week, project defence and other important institutional activities.

FIRST SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR

OCTOBER 2026

  • 9 October: Long Vacation Ends
  • 10 October: First Semester Begins and Students Return
  • 12 October: Course Registration Begins
  • 12 October: Departmental Board Meetings
  • 12 October: New Students’ Registration Begins
  • 13 October: School Board Meetings
  • 14 October: Academic Board Meetings
  • 15 October: Curriculum Committee Meets
  • 19 October: First Semester Lectures Begin
  • 21 October: Admission Committee Meets

NOVEMBER 2026

  • 9 November: Ceremonial Committee Meets
