FEDERAL UNIVERSITY DUTSE CLARIFIES ₦5,000 ALUMNI REGISTRATION FEE, SAYS IT IS NOT FOR NYSC MOBILIZATION
The management of the Federal University Dutse (FUD) has clarified the purpose of the ₦5,000 payment reportedly being collected from final-year students.
The clarification followed public outrage over claims that the university was collecting the sum as an NYSC mobilization fee from all final-year students.
PAYMENT IS FOR ALUMNI REGISTRATION
According to the university’s Division of Students’ Affairs, the payment is being made into the account of the Federal University Dutse Alumni Association as an Alumni registration fee, and not as a fee for NYSC mobilization.
The university therefore urged all concerned students to take note of the clarification and avoid misunderstanding the purpose of the payment.
WHEN CAN STUDENTS MAKE THE PAYMENT?
The notice further stated that students can make the payment at the point of collecting their results or certificates.
This means that students are not required to make the payment specifically for NYSC mobilization, as the fee is connected to alumni registration.
The clarification was signed by Sani Sabo Idris, Students’ Relation Officer, for the Dean of Students’ Affairs.
All affected final-year students are advised to take note of the information accordingly.
