AKWA IBOM STATE UNIVERSITY (AKSU) RELEASES POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION FORM FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), through its School of Postgraduate Studies, has invited applications from qualified candidates for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

The postgraduate programmes are available across various faculties and departments, leading to Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) qualifications.

AVAILABLE POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE: Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Animal Science, Crop Science, Soil Science.

FACULTY OF ARTS: Philosophy, Religious and Cultural Studies, Performing Arts, History and International Studies, English.

FACULTY OF EDUCATION: Science Education.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering.

FACULTY OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES: Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Chemistry.

FACULTY OF COMPUTING AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: Computer Science.

FACULTY OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES: Genetics and Biotechnology, Plant Science, Zoology, Microbiology, Marine Biology.

FACULTY OF ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES: Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Accounting.

FACULTY OF COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA STUDIES: Mass Communication, Public Relations.

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES: Political Science, Economics, Library and Information Science.

ELIGIBILITY

The admission notice states that applications are invited from qualified candidates. However, the specific entry requirements for each PGD, Master’s and Ph.D. programme are not listed in the advertisement.

Candidates are therefore advised to check the official postgraduate admission portal for the detailed admission requirements applicable to their chosen programme before applying.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Application forms can be accessed online upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of N30,000.00 (Thirty Thousand Naira) only, excluding bank charges.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

All completed application forms should be submitted online, together with uploaded copies of relevant credentials and a copy of the receipt of payment for the application form.

The application must be submitted not later than October 30, 2026.
