AKWA IBOM STATE UNIVERSITY RELEASES APPROVED SECOND SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR 2025/2026 SESSION

The management of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has officially released the approved academic calendar for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic session. The calendar outlines important academic activities, registration timelines, lecture schedules, examination dates, and other major events for all students of the institution.

According to the university management, all students are expected to strictly adhere to the approved schedule to ensure a smooth and successful academic semester. Students are also advised to complete their registration processes within the stipulated period to avoid penalties associated with late registration.

RESUMPTION AND REGISTRATION ACTIVITIES

The second semester academic activities will officially begin with the arrival of students on campus on Friday, 29th May, 2026. Academic registration for all students is scheduled to commence on Monday, 1st June, 2026.

The university management announced that regular registration will close on Friday, 3rd July, 2026. Students who fail to complete their registration within the approved period will have the opportunity to register during the late registration window, which begins on Monday, 6th July, 2026 and ends finally on Friday, 31st July, 2026.

Students are strongly advised to complete all necessary payment procedures and course registrations early to avoid unnecessary delays and complications.

LECTURE AND ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Academic lectures across all faculties and departments are scheduled to commence officially on Wednesday, 3rd June, 2026. The university approved a total of fifteen (15) weeks of lectures for the semester.

Lectures are expected to continue until Tuesday, 15th September, 2026, after which students will proceed to examination preparation activities.

The management further disclosed that the Annual Students’ Week celebration will hold between Wednesday, 16th September and Friday, 18th September, 2026. The event is expected to feature various social, cultural, sporting, and educational activities organized by the student body.

To prepare students spiritually ahead of examinations, an interdenominational pre-examination service has been scheduled to hold on Sunday, 20th September, 2026.

SECOND SEMESTER EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

The second semester examinations and Computer-Based Tests (CBT) are scheduled to commence on Monday, 21st September, 2026. According to the approved calendar, the examination exercise will run for approximately two weeks across all campuses and faculties of the university.

The university management stated that all examinations are expected to conclude officially on Friday, 9th October, 2026, while students are expected to vacate the campuses on Saturday, 10th October, 2026.

IMPORTANT EXAMINATION DIRECTIVES

AKSU management also released important guidelines concerning the conduct and scheduling of examinations for the semester.

According to the directives:

  • All final year examination papers will be conducted strictly during morning sessions.
  • Examinations for other levels and classes will hold during afternoon sessions until all final year examinations have been concluded.
  • Students are expected to comply with all examination regulations and avoid any form of examination malpractice.
  • Only duly registered students will be permitted to participate in the examinations.

MANAGEMENT ADVISORY TO STUDENTS

The university management encouraged all students to remain focused throughout the semester and make effective use of the lecture period to prepare adequately for their examinations.

Students were also advised to regularly monitor official university communication channels and departmental notice boards for updates concerning lectures, examinations, and other academic matters.

The institution wished all students a productive and successful second semester academic experience.
