ATBU TO WITHHOLD FIRST SEMESTER RESULTS FOR STUDENTS WHO FAILED TO UPLOAD DRUG TEST RESULT ON UNIVERSITY'S PORTAL
The management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has issued a strict directive regarding the compulsory drug testing policy for students in tertiary institutions. In an internal memo dated 16th June, 2026 (Ref: ATBU/REG/ADM/01), the university confirmed punitive measures for non-compliant students.
Senate Decision and Enforcement
During its meeting held on Monday, 15th June, 2026, the University Senate reaffirmed its decision to withhold the 2025/2026 First Semester results of all students who failed to upload their drug test results onto the university portal.
Compliance Requirements
The compulsory drug testing policy follows a directive from the Federal Government requiring students to complete screening prior to course registration. Although the deadline was extended to the end of the first semester, defaulters will now face restricted access to their academic records.
Provosts and Deans have been mandated to immediately sensitize and communicate this decision to students within their respective faculties. The directive was signed by the Registrar, Kabiru Garba Aminu.
