BABA-AHMED UNIVERSITY, KANO ANNOUNCES NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

The Management of Baba-Ahmed University has announced the commencement of two new academic programmes. The Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Criminology and Security Studies are scheduled to take-off in September 2026.

The commencement of these programmes represents a significant expansion of the University's academic offerings and reflects its commitment to providing relevant education that responds to contemporary challenges in justice, security and governance.

The new programmes are designed to provide students with strong grounding in legal principles while equipping them with specialised knowledge and practical understanding of criminology and security studies. The programmes will also prepare graduates for career opportunities in areas including law enforcement, legal practice, policy-making and security management.
The take-off of the programmes comes at a time when the need for well-trained professionals in the fields of law, crime prevention, security and public policy continues to attract growing attention.

Accordingly, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Idris Tanko, FRGS, FANG in a statement confirmed that further information on admission requirements, curriculum and programme schedules would be published in due course.

With the introduction of the new programmes, BAUK is strengthening its academic portfolio while creating additional opportunities for students seeking professional careers in law, security, criminology and related fields.
