The Management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has issued a public disclaimer regarding a misleading publication currently circulating across various social media platforms claiming that the institution has released official cut-off marks for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.

According to the university, the publication, which is being shared by a self-proclaimed "campus gist" content creator and other unauthorized sources, is entirely false and did not originate from the university. The management described the information as misleading and urged prospective students, parents, guardians, and members of the public to disregard the publication in its entirety.

The university emphasized that it has not released any official cut-off marks for the 2026/2027 admission exercise and warned against relying on information obtained from unofficial sources. COOU noted that all admission-related announcements, including information on screening exercises, admission requirements, and cut-off marks, are communicated exclusively through the university's verified channels.

The institution further advised prospective applicants to regularly monitor its official website and approved social media platforms for authentic updates concerning admissions and other academic activities.

In addition, the university raised concerns about the activities of admission racketeers who take advantage of admission seekers by spreading false information and making fraudulent promises of securing admission. The management strongly warned candidates and their parents not to engage with such individuals or make payments to anyone claiming to facilitate admission into the university.

COOU reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a transparent and merit-based admission process and assured prospective candidates that all official information regarding the 2026/2027 admission exercise will be released through the appropriate channels at the right time.

The university therefore urges members of the public to remain vigilant, verify information before acting on it, and avoid falling victim to fraudulent admission schemes.

Prospective students are advised to rely solely on official communications from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University for accurate and up-to-date admission information.
