The Management of the University of Benin hereby informs the university community of the successful conclusion of the First Semester for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. Following a productive academic period, the institution has released the official transition schedule for the upcoming semester break.
I. SEMESTER CONCLUSION AND VACATION PROTOCOL
In accordance with the circular issued by the Office of the Registrar dated April 14, 2026, the following guidelines apply:
- Examination Conclusion: The First Semester examinations will officially end on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
- Mandatory Vacation: All students must vacate their respective Halls of Residence on or before 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
- Semester Break: The break commences formally on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
II. SECOND SEMESTER RESUMPTION SCHEDULE
The University has finalized the calendar for the Second Semester to ensure a seamless return to academic activities:
- Resumption Date: Students are expected back on campus and in their halls of residence on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
- Commencement of Lectures: Academic activities across all Faculties and Schools will formally begin on Monday, April 27, 2026.
III. MANAGEMENT APPRECIATION AND ADVISORY
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Edoba B. Omoregie, on behalf of the management, expressed his profound gratitude to both academic and non-academic staff, as well as the student body, for their commitment and cooperation during the semester.
- Advisory to Students: Students are encouraged to utilize this short break to rest adequately and prepare themselves mentally for the rigorous demands of the upcoming second semester.
CONCLUSION: COMMITTED TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
The University of Benin continues to prioritize a stable and conducive learning environment. We wish all our students a safe journey to their various destinations and a refreshing semester break.
