Federal Polytechnic Idah (FPI): Mandatory Project Upload to NERD Centre for NYSC Mobilization

In line with the new Federal Government directive, the management of The Federal Polytechnic, Idah (FPI) has issued an urgent notice to all Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates from the 2024/2025 Academic Session. To be eligible for the upcoming National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) call-up, all graduands must digitize and upload their final-year project works to the National Education Repository & Databank (NERD).

This requirement follows a national policy aimed at curbing plagiarism, ensuring academic integrity, and creating a unified digital archive of intellectual property from all Nigerian tertiary institutions. As of October 6, 2025, the NYSC has integrated proof of NERD compliance as a mandatory prerequisite for the generation of call-up letters.

Authorized Centers for Project Upload in Idah
To facilitate this process for graduates residing in or near the polytechnic community, the institution has approved four designated service centers. These centers are equipped to assist with the technical formatting and digital submission required by the NERD system:

Michconcept Global Tech: Located directly behind the Old Convocation Square within The Federal Polytechnic, Idah.

Eminence Computer and Media Services: Situated within the campus of The Federal Polytechnic, Idah.

World Sight Cyber Café: Located at Shop 12, Jaba Plaza, Sabongari, Idah.

Largess Investment Technology: Located at 25 Ahmadu Bello Way, Sabongari, Idah.

Online Submission for Remote Graduates
Graduates who are currently outside Idah and wish to complete the exercise remotely can access the digital service portal through the official NERD ecosystem. The system allows for self-service uploads, provided the student has the digital copy of their approved project in the required format.

What is the NERD System?
The National Education Repository & Databank (NERD) is the official centralized repository managed by the Federal Ministry of Education. It serves as a "quality assurance check" that verifies every graduate’s academic affiliation.

When uploading, students must ensure the following data points are accurate:

Full Name and Matriculation Number.

Department and Institution (The Federal Polytechnic, Idah).

Project Title and Abstract.

Names of Supervisor and Head of Department.

Consequences of Non-Compliance
The polytechnic management warns that students who fail to upload their projects will not appear on the NYSC Senate List. Without a verified record in the NERD databank, the NYSC portal will block the registration of such graduates during the mobilization phase for the 2026 Batch 'A' and 'B' streams.

Graduands are encouraged to complete this exercise immediately to allow for data synchronization between the Polytechnic’s ICT center and the national database.
