FEDERAL UNIVERSITY GASHUA GETS NUC APPROVAL FOR 11 NEW UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES FOR 2026/2027
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 11 new full-time undergraduate programmes for the Federal University Gashua (FUGA), Yobe State, effective from the 2026/2027 academic session.
The approval was communicated in a letter dated September 11, 2026, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor. It followed a resource verification exercise conducted by a panel of experts to assess the university’s human and material resources for the proposed programmes.

Vice-Chancellor Reacts to the Approval
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Gashua, Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam, described the approval as a significant milestone in the university’s growth and academic expansion.
He noted that the development reflects the institution’s commitment to expanding its academic offerings and creating more opportunities for prospective students seeking admission.
