FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, IYIN EKITI APPOINTS PROF. OLUMIDE MOSES OGUNDIPE AS DEPUTY VICE-CHANCELLOR

The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN) has officially appointed Engr. Professor Olumide Moses Ogundipe as its new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC).

The appointment has been widely welcomed by members of the academic community, engineering professionals, and well-wishers, who described it as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding contributions to higher education, engineering practice, and university administration.

Professor Ogundipe is a Professor of Civil Engineering with specialization in Transportation and Highway Engineering. He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) and the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (FNICE) and currently serves as a National Executive Committee member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Before his appointment, he served as Director of Special Duties in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. He also previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, where he coordinated the successful National Universities Commission (NUC) resource verification exercise for eight academic programmes.

Professor Ogundipe obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours) from the University of Ado Ekiti (now Ekiti State University), his Master of Engineering from the University of Ilorin, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

A renowned researcher, he has authored over 100 scholarly publications and has supervised several postgraduate students. He has also represented Nigeria at international conferences and contributed significantly to engineering research and infrastructure development.

The university community believes his wealth of experience, leadership qualities, and academic excellence will further strengthen the administration of FUTES-IYIN and contribute to the institution's continued growth and development.
