FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, WUKARI (FUWUKARI) SUG ANNOUNCES COMMENCEMENT OF NELFUND INSTITUTIONAL FEE DISBURSEMENT

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Federal University Wukari, Taraba State, has announced that the disbursement of institutional fees under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has commenced for students who successfully applied for the scheme. The announcement was made in an official notice dated July 30, 2026.

According to the SUG, beneficiaries whose institutional fees have been paid are advised to remain patient while the payments reflect on the university's school portal. Students will be able to proceed with their course registration once the payments are updated on the portal.

The union also addressed students who paid their school fees before the NELFUND disbursement. It stated that the university's NELFUND Desk Officer is already working on a seamless refund process for such students, adding that further details on how refunds will be processed will be communicated once final arrangements are completed.

In addition, students whose NELFUND application status still shows "Verified by Institution" have been urged not to panic. The SUG explained that the status indicates that the university has completed the institutional verification process and that the disbursement of their institutional fees will follow in due course.

The Students' Union Government reaffirmed its commitment to engaging with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all eligible students benefit from the Federal Government's student loan initiative without unnecessary delays.

Students have also been encouraged to monitor the official communication channels of the Students' Union Government and the university for further updates regarding NELFUND payments and the refund process.
