FRAUD PREVENTION REGARDING MATRICULATION DOCUMENTS

The Management of Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University (RFMOAU), Makurdi, formerly Benue State University, has issued a critical warning to all newly admitted students and the general public. This notice follows reports of unauthorized individuals and groups extorting fresh students by attempting to sell official university materials.

OFFICIAL STATUS OF MATRICULATION DOCUMENTS

Students are hereby formally notified that the following documents are NOT FOR SALE:

  • The Matriculation Oath Form
  • The University Anthem

These items are provided by the university free of charge. Any individual or group demanding payment for these documents is engaging in illegal activity and should be reported to the campus security authorities immediately.

HOW TO ACCESS OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS

All successfully screened and registered students should follow these steps to obtain their documents for the upcoming ceremony on Wednesday, 22nd April, 2026:

  1. Visit the University’s official website: www.bsum.edu.ng
  2. Navigate to the student portal or downloads section.
  3. Download and print the Matriculation Oath Form and the University Anthem directly.

WARNING AGAINST ILLEGAL VENDORS

The Directorate of Information, Protocol and Public Relations strongly advises students to desist from patronizing illegal vendors. Please take note of the following:

  • Patronizing unauthorized sellers is done at the student's own risk
  • Documents purchased from unofficial sources may not be recognized during the formal induction ceremony.
  • The University will not be held liable for any financial loss incurred through these fraudulent transactions.

The University Management is committed to ensuring a seamless and transparent matriculation exercise. Students are encouraged to remain vigilant and rely solely on the official university portal for all academic and administrative requirements.
