GOVERNOR DOUYE DIRI APPOINTS BARR. KEMELA OKARA AS CHAIRMAN/PRO-CHANCELLOR OF UNIAFRICA
The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has officially constituted the Governing Council for the University of Africa, Toru-Orua (UAT).
According to a special government announcement released by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government on June 2nd, 2026, legal practitioner and national honoree Kemela Okara Esq. MON has been appointed as the Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of the institution's newly formed council.
The reconstitution of the council is part of a broader effort by the state government to strengthen leadership and governance across higher institutions in Bayelsa State.
