KASHIM IBRAHIM UNIVERSITY (KIU) ANNOUNCES END-OF-SESSION CLOSURE AND REOPENING DATES FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

This is to inform all members of staff that the University will officially close for the end of the 2025/2026 Academic Session with effect from Monday, 10th August, 2026.

The University will reopen for the commencement of the new academic session (2026/2027) on 28th September, 2026.

All staff are hereby informed that the vacation period shall not affect official University activities such as marking, meetings, admissions or any other essential assignments that may arise during the period. Staff required to participate in such activities will be duly notified and are expected to report accordingly.

Furthermore, this vacation does not apply to staff providing essential services, including those in the University Clinic, Sanitation Unit, Fire Service, Security Unit, Works and Maintenance, and other designated essential service units. Such staff are expected to continue performing their duties in accordance with their approved duty rosters.

All staff are advised to ensure that their offices are properly secured before proceeding on the vacation and to remain available for any official assignments, where necessary.

Also Academic Staff should ensure completion of marking which is 22nd August, 2026.
The Management wishes all staff and Students a peaceful, safe, and refreshing vacation.

Please note that the Closure is for both Academic and Non-Teaching Staff except for Securities and essential services. Thank you!
