LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU) ADMISSION INTO SANDWICH DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR 2025 MODULAR YEAR

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Sandwich Degree Programmes listed below, available at Lagos State University’s Ojo and Epe Campuses.

2.0 FACULTY OF EDUCATION
B.Sc (Ed), B.A. (Ed), and B.Ed: Four (4) and Five (5) Year Sandwich Degree Programmes in the following disciplines:

i. B.Sc Education: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science Education, and Educational Technology.

ii. Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education; B.Sc Education: Health Education; and Physical & Health Education.

iii. B.Sc Education: Business Education and Educational Management.

iv. B.Sc Education: Economics, Political Science, Geography.

v. B.A. Education: History, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies, French, English, Yoruba, and Arabic.

vi. B.Ed Education: Early Childhood and Primary Education, Guidance and Counselling Education, and Special Education.

3.0 GENERAL BASIC REQUIREMENTS
i. Five (5) O’Level credits or NABTEB relevant to the chosen course of study at not more than two (2) sittings, and two (2) of the subjects at ‘A’ Level or NCE Merit Pass in relevant areas.

ii. A University/Polytechnic two (2) year Diploma Certificate in the relevant area obtained at not less than Merit/Lower Credit Level.

iii. Credit pass in English Language and Mathematics is compulsory for all courses.

3.1 SPECIFIC SUBJECT AREA REQUIREMENTS
i. English Major: Credits in Literature in English and English Language at O’Level or its equivalent.

ii. Economics Major: Credits in English Language, Mathematics, and Economics.

iii. Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education: Credits in English Language, Mathematics, and other subjects from Agricultural Science, Biology, and Physical & Health Science.

iv. Political Science Major: At least a credit pass in English Language, Mathematics, and Government at O’Level or its equivalent.

v. Health Education: Credits in English Language, Mathematics, and other subjects from Agricultural Science, Biology, Health Science, and pass subjects from Arts or Social Sciences. Holders of Staff Registered Nurse and Midwifery Certificates, Environmental Health Diploma from School of Health Technology, plus five (5) O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics, are also eligible.

vi. Mathematics and Science Major: Credits in Mathematics, English Language, and Physics are compulsory.

3.2 OTHER ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS
i. ICAN (Part II) and CTS (Part II) are acceptable for Economics.

ii. Holders of certificates issued by recognised Arabic institutions who may not have written Arabic at SSCE/GCE O’Level or NABTEB will be considered for admission, subject to the fulfilment of other entry requirements. NCE (Arabic) at Merit Level is also acceptable.

iii. LASU accepts any other Arts/Social Sciences subject in lieu of Yoruba Language.

iv. Diploma in Health Education, Environmental Health, Physical Education, Social Work, Health Administration, Certificate in Coaching, Advanced Diploma in Sports from the Nigerian Institute for Sports with at least overall grades of Merit, plus five (5) O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics, are also acceptable for Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education.

4.0 COURSE DURATION
4.1 FOUR (4)YEAR DEGREE PROGRAMME
The four (4) year degree programme is designed for candidates with NCE/ND Merit/Lower Credit grade and above.

4.2 FIVE (5) YEAR DEGREE PROGRAMME
The five (5) year degree programme is designed for candidates with WASC/SSCE, NABTEB, and NCE who fall short of the entry qualifications for the four (4) year Sandwich Degree Programme.

5.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION
Application forms are obtainable from the Lagos State University website: www.lasu.edu.ng upon payment of Ten Thousand Naira (₦10,000.00) only, as the application fee. However, candidates are required to submit a copy of their online application forms and appropriate O’Level scratch card(s) to the Directorate of Sandwich Degree Programme on each of the campuses.

6.0 CLOSING DATE
The closing date for application is twelve (12) weeks from the date of this publication.

7.0 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
The entrance examination and interview will be held on Saturday, 1st November 2025 at the 3-in-1 Lecture Theatre (Hall 1 and 2) by 9:00 a.m. Candidates are advised to come along with their writing materials, and both original and photocopies of all their credentials.
