LASU Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026
The Postgraduate School of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. The programmes cut across several faculties, schools, and specialised centres within the university.
General Requirements
Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes including English Language at the Ordinary Level in examinations such as GCE, WASC, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or Grade II. Candidates applying for programmes in Science, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, and Educational Management must also have a credit pass in Mathematics at the Ordinary Level.
Available Programmes
The postgraduate programmes at Lagos State University include Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s degrees, M.Phil/Ph.D, and Ph.D programmes across different academic units.
The Faculty of Arts offers programmes in departments such as African Languages, History and International Studies, Religions and Peace Studies, English, Foreign Languages, Theatre Arts and Music, and Philosophy. These programmes cover fields like Yoruba Language and Literature, International Relations and Strategic Studies, History and Diplomacy, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, English Language, French, Arabic Studies, Theatre Arts, Music, and Philosophy.
The Faculty of Education offers a wide range of postgraduate programmes including the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). Specialisation areas include Counselling Psychology, Educational Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology of Education, Philosophy of Education, Educational Technology, Computer Education, Science Education, Mathematics Education, Health Education, Exercise Physiology, Sports Management, and Curriculum Studies. The faculty also offers subject education programmes such as English, Arabic, French, Yoruba, Economics, Geography, Political Science, History, Music, and Religious Studies Education.
The Centre for Environmental Science and Sustainable Development Education (CESSED) offers programmes in Environmental Education, Environmental Resource Management, Environmental Management, and Climate Change, including both academic and professional postgraduate degrees.
The Centre for Planning Studies provides programmes such as Postgraduate Diploma in Planning Studies, Master in Urban and Regional Planning, and postgraduate degrees in Housing and Urban Development.
The Faculty of Engineering offers postgraduate programmes in Electronic and Computer Engineering, Chemical and Polymer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, including Postgraduate Diploma, M.Sc, and doctoral degrees.
The Faculty of Law provides postgraduate programmes such as LL.M, LL.M Maritime and Commercial Law, Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Law, Master of Legal Studies, LL.M Taxation, and doctoral programmes in Law.
The Faculty of Management Sciences offers postgraduate programmes in fields such as Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Insurance, and Project Management. These include Postgraduate Diploma, MBA, M.Sc, M.Phil/Ph.D, and Ph.D programmes as well as professional doctorates.
The Faculty of Science offers postgraduate programmes in Botany, Fisheries, Biochemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology and Environmental Biology, and Microbiology.
The Faculty of Social Sciences provides postgraduate programmes in Economics, Geography and Planning, Sociology, Political Science, and Psychology.
The Faculty of Communication and Media Studies offers postgraduate programmes including Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, M.Sc, and doctoral degrees in Communication Studies.
In addition, several specialised centres within Lagos State University offer postgraduate programmes in areas such as Financial Forensics, Transport and Logistics, Sustainable Development, Peace and Security Studies, STEM Education, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Gender Studies.
The Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), located in Ikeja, also offers postgraduate programmes in disciplines such as Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Biochemistry, Community Health, Clinical Sciences, and Dental Sciences.
Method of Application
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Thirty Thousand, Three Hundred Naira (₦30,300) online into the account of Lagos State University. All applicants will also be required to sit for a qualifying entrance examination at the university’s main campus in Ojo, Lagos.
Closing Date
The sale of application forms will close four (4) weeks from the date of publication. Applicants must submit their completed forms online and print a copy of the e-registration slip.
Important Notes
Applicants who have not completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assignment or who are currently enrolled in another postgraduate programme should not apply. Academic transcripts must reach the Postgraduate School within two weeks after the close of application.
Applicants must personally attend the selection and written examinations, as make-up tests will not be conducted. Candidates must also provide valid email addresses and phone numbers during the application process.
