The Management of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has released the official protocol for the collection and return of academic regalia in preparation for its 8th and 9th Combined Convocation Ceremony. Ayuba, the university outlined the financial and administrative requirements for graduands from the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions, as well as the Postgraduate School.

Financial Requirements and Payment Procedure
In line with the university's transition to digital financial transparency, all payments must be processed through the federal government's centralized platform.

Approved Gown Charges
Postgraduate Graduands: ₦5,000

Undergraduate Graduands: ₦2,000

The Payment Workflow
Generate Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR): Graduands are to visit the Remita Platform and select "Plateau State University, Bokkos" as the recipient agency.

Payment Fulfillment: Payments can be completed via internet banking, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, or at any commercial bank branch.

Verification: Before proceeding to the collection point, the Remita payment receipt must be verified and stamped by the Faculty Finance Officer (for undergraduates) or the Postgraduate School Finance Officer.

Collection and Distribution Points
The university has decentralized the distribution process to minimize congestion and ensure a seamless experience for all graduands.

Undergraduate Collection: Graduands are to report directly to their respective Faculty Offices.

Postgraduate Collection: Specifically handled at the Postgraduate School administrative block.

Requirements for Collection: Graduands must present their stamped Remita receipt and a valid student identification card or statement of results.

Mandatory Return Policy and Penalties
The university maintains a strict policy regarding the stewardship of academic regalia to ensure their availability for future academic exercises.

Return Date: All academic gowns must be returned to the point of collection on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Late Return Penalty: A surcharge of ₦500 per day will be applied to any gown returned after the specified deadline.

Damage/Loss: Graduands are reminded that they are held personally responsible for the condition of the gowns. Any significant damage or loss will result in a full replacement cost assessment.
