Niger State Polytechnic Establishes School of Computing and Information Technology
Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, has achieved another significant milestone in its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and technological advancement with the establishment of the School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT).
The approval for the new school was granted by the Polytechnic's top management during its meeting held on June 4, 2026, following extensive deliberations and the adoption of recommendations presented by the Technical Committee responsible for the initiative.

The creation of the School of Computing and Information Technology reflects the institution's proactive response to the increasing global demand for technology-focused education and skilled digital professionals.
The new school is designed to align the Polytechnic's academic offerings with emerging trends in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software engineering, information management, and communication technology.
According to the Polytechnic, the establishment of SCIT further strengthens its vision of producing graduates equipped with industry-relevant skills capable of thriving in today's rapidly evolving digital economy.
