NORTHWEST UNIVERSITY, KANO RELEASES 2026/2027 POST-UTME/DE SCREENING REGISTRATION DETAILS

The management of Northwest University, Kano has officially announced the commencement of the 2026/2027 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) screening registration for prospective students seeking admission into the institution.

According to the university, the online registration exercise will commence on Monday, August 10, 2026, and close on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Candidates who selected Northwest University, Kano as their first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME or Direct Entry admission exercise are invited to complete their screening registration within the stipulated period.

  • Opening Date: Monday, August 10, 2026
  • Closing Date: Sunday, August 23, 2026

Candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline, as late applications will not be accepted.

Eligibility Requirements

UTME Candidates

Applicants must:

  • Choose Northwest University, Kano as their first-choice institution.
  • Possess at least five (5) O'Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
  • Meet the minimum UTME score for their chosen programme.

Direct Entry Candidates

Applicants must possess:

  • A valid 2026 Direct Entry Registration Slip.
  • National Diploma (ND), NCE, or IJMB qualification.
  • A minimum CGPA of 3.0 for science-based programmes.
  • A minimum CGPA of 3.5 for arts-based programmes.
  • At least 9 points in NCE.
  • A minimum of 7 IJMB points for science programmes or 8 IJMB points for arts and social science programmes.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates should follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the official university website: www.nwu.edu.ng.
  2. Click on the 2026 Admission Portal.
  3. Generate a NABROLL payment invoice.
  4. Pay the prescribed ₦2,000 screening fee online or at any designated bank nationwide.
  5. Return to the admission portal to complete the registration.
  6. Print the acknowledgement slip after successful registration.

The acknowledgement slip will be required during the screening exercise.

Important Information

Candidates should note the following:

  • Those wishing to change their institution or course through JAMB must do so on or before August 9, 2026.
  • All applicants must upload their credentials on the JAMB e-Facility Portal.
  • Candidates must ensure that the grades entered during registration correspond exactly with their O'Level results.
  • Any discrepancy in uploaded credentials may result in disqualification.
  • Candidates who fail to register within the stipulated period will not be considered for admission into the university.
