Official Schedule for the 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony: Delta State University (DELSU)

The Management of Delta State University, Abraka, has officially scheduled the Matriculation Ceremony for all newly admitted Postgraduate, Undergraduate, and Diploma students for the 2025/2026 academic session. This significant academic rite of passage serves as the formal induction of fresh students into the university community, where they will publicly take the matriculation oath of allegiance to the institution.

To accommodate the diverse student body across the university's multi-campus structure, the ceremony will be held simultaneously on Saturday, 14th February 2026, with specific arrangements for both the Abraka and Oleh campuses.

Abraka Campus (Main Site)
The Abraka campus ceremony will cater to the majority of the university's faculties and departments. Due to the high volume of students, the university has designated its largest open-air facility for the event.

Venue: Convocation Arena, Site 01, Abraka.

Commencement Time: 9:00 am prompt.

Mandatory Seating: All matriculating students must be fully robed and seated by 8:30 am.

Oleh Campus
The ceremony at the Oleh campus is specifically organized for students within the specialized faculties located at that site, primarily the Faculties of Engineering and Law.

Venue: 750 Seating Capacity Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Engineering.

Commencement Time: 11:00 am prompt.

Mandatory Seating: All matriculating students must be fully robed and seated by 10:30 am.

Important Directives for Matriculants
To ensure a seamless and dignified ceremony, all fresh students are expected to adhere to the following institutional guidelines:

Academic Regalia: Students are required to collect their matriculation gowns from their respective Faculty Officers. Collection usually requires the presentation of a school fees payment receipt and a small hire fee.

The Matriculation Oath: This is the legal heart of the ceremony. Students who fail to participate and sign the matriculation register may not be recognized as bona fide students of the university, regardless of admission status.

Conduct and Punctuality: The 30-minute pre-event seating rule is strictly enforced to allow for the formal entry of the Vice-Chancellor’s procession. Students arriving late may be barred from entering the ceremonial arena.
