OGUN STATE POLYTECHNIC OF HEALTH & ALLIED SCIENCES (OSPOHAS) GETS NBTE APPROVAL FOR ND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PROGRAMME

In a landmark development that further strengthens its position as a leading institution for modern technical and health education, the Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences (OSPOHAS), Ilese-Ijebu, has secured the approval of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to commence the National Diploma (ND) programme in Artificial Intelligence.

The approval marks a significant milestone in the evolution of OSPOHAS and reflects the institution’s commitment to equipping students with relevant skills for the rapidly changing world of technology, innovation and digital transformation.

The new programme has been designed to provide students with practical and industry-relevant knowledge in key areas of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies. Students will be exposed to advanced programming, digital systems, microcontrollers, Artificial Intelligence laboratory practice and a comprehensive capstone project designed to translate classroom knowledge into practical solutions.

The approval, conveyed in a letter issued by the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Prof. Idris M. Bugaje, followed a rigorous assessment of the Polytechnic’s capacity and readiness to deliver a contemporary Artificial Intelligence curriculum.

Speaking on the development, the Rector OSPOHAS Dr. Rasaki Yinka Akinbo, reaffirmed the Polytechnic’s commitment to innovation, excellence and continuous improvement, noting that the introduction of Artificial Intelligence further demonstrates the institution’s readiness to respond to the demands of the 21st-century workforce.
