SOKOTO STATE UNIVERSITY (SSU): COMBINED CONVOCATION CEREMONY ANNOUNCEMENT

The authorities of Sokoto State University (SSU) are pleased to announce the Combined Convocation Ceremony for the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th sets of graduates. This significant event marks a milestone in the university's history as it celebrates the academic achievements of five consecutive graduating classes.

I. EVENT SCHEDULE

The convocation activities are scheduled to take place over a six-day period:

• Date: Monday, 15th June – Saturday, 20th June 2026
• Daily Commencement: 9:00 AM Prompt
• Venue: University Main Campus, Birnin Kebbi Road, Sokoto

II. PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

While a detailed day-to-day breakdown will be provided in the official programme of events, the week-long ceremony is expected to include:

• Convocation Lecture: Featuring distinguished guest speakers.
• Award of First Degrees: To graduating students from all faculties.
• Presentation of Prizes: Recognizing outstanding academic performance among the various sets.
• Commissioning of Projects: Unveiling of new infrastructure within the university campus.

III. NOTICE TO GRADUANDS

All graduands from the 4th to 8th sets are advised to take note of the following:

• Academic Regalia: Information regarding the collection of gowns, caps, and hoods will be communicated through the various Faculty Officers.
• Convocation Fees: Ensure all mandatory convocation and alumni fees are cleared to be eligible for certificate collection.
• Procession: Graduands are expected to be fully robed and joined in the academic procession by 8:30 AM on their respective award days.

IV. INFORMATION FOR GUESTS

• Security: Guests are requested to cooperate with university security personnel and follow designated parking instructions.
