STATE UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES (SUMAS), IGBO-ENO RELEASES 2026/2027 FIRST SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, has released its Academic Calendar for the 2026/2027 Academic Session, First Semester.
The academic calendar, released through the Office of the Registrar, outlines the schedule of academic activities for returning students and freshmen, including registration, lectures, continuous assessments, examinations and semester breaks.
According to the calendar, academic activities for the first semester are scheduled to commence in October 2026, while the semester is expected to end in March 2027.

OCTOBER 2026
- Saturday, October 3, 2026: Returning students are expected to return to campus.
- Monday, October 5, 2026: Registration of returning students begins.
- Monday, October 12, 2026: Lectures begin and registration of returning students ends.
- Monday, October 12, 2026: Arrival of freshmen and registration begin.
- October 12–31, 2026: Registration of freshmen continues while lectures also continue.
NOVEMBER 2026
- November 1–30, 2026: Lectures continue.
DECEMBER 2026
- December 1–19, 2026: Lectures continue and Continuous Assessment I takes place.
- December 20–31, 2026: Christmas break.
JANUARY 2027
- Saturday, January 2, 2027: Students return from the Christmas break.
- Monday, January 4, 2027: Lectures resume.
- January 4–31, 2027: Lectures continue.
FEBRUARY 2027
- Monday, February 1–Saturday, February 13, 2027: Lectures continue and Continuous Assessment II takes place.
- Sunday, February 14–Sunday, February 21, 2027: Revision period.
- Monday, February 22, 2027: First Semester Examinations begin.
MARCH 2027
- Monday, March 1–Friday, March 12, 2027: First Semester Examinations continue.
- Saturday, March 13, 2027: First Semester ends and students vacate the campus for semester break.
