UNIBEN Reconstitutes CR⁴IC Committee to Strengthen Peace and Campus Harmony
The Management of University of Benin has informed members of the university community that the Cult Renunciation, Reconciliation, Reformation, Rehabilitation and Interfaith Committee (CR⁴IC) has been officially reconstituted.
According to the announcement, the committee is now chaired by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Ekehuan Campus, Prof. B. A. Ayinde.
The university explained that the restructuring of the committee is part of the institution’s continued commitment to promoting peace, harmony, mutual understanding, and constructive engagement among students, staff, and stakeholders across all campuses.
Committee’s Mandate
The reconstituted CR⁴IC Committee is expected to strengthen initiatives focused on:
- Encouraging dialogue and peaceful engagement
- Promoting reconciliation among members of the university community
- Supporting rehabilitation and reformation efforts
- Advancing interfaith tolerance and coexistence on campus
Management noted that the committee will play a vital role in sustaining a conducive academic environment for learning, research, teaching, and personal development.
Vice Chancellor Reaffirms Commitment to Peace
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Edoba B. Omoregie, SAN, reassured staff, students, and stakeholders of the university’s dedication to maintaining a safe, peaceful, and inclusive atmosphere across its campuses.
He emphasized that the institution remains committed to upholding discipline, unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence within the university community.
Call for Cooperation
Members of the university community have been encouraged to cooperate fully with the CR⁴IC Committee and support all efforts aimed at fostering peace and stability within the institution.
The management further urged students and staff to continue promoting the core values of mutual respect, tolerance, discipline, and responsible conduct.
