UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA (NOW YAKUBU GOWON UNIVERSITY, ABUJA) OPENS PART-TIME DEGREE ADMISSION FOR 2026/2027 SESSION

The Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education (CDL&CE) of the University of Abuja (now Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja) has officially commenced applications for admission into its Part-Time Degree Programmes (Stream Two) for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The programme is designed to provide an opportunity for individuals who wish to obtain a university degree while balancing their education with work, business, family responsibilities, or other commitments.

Interested and suitably qualified candidates are advised to carefully review the available programmes, admission requirements, application procedure, and deadline before applying.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

O'LEVEL REQUIREMENT

Applicants are required to possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings from recognized examination bodies.

Acceptable qualifications include:

• WAEC/SSCE
• NECO
• GCE O' Level
• NABTEB
• TC II

Candidates are advised to ensure that their O'Level results meet the requirements of their chosen programme before submitting their applications.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry must possess at least four (4) relevant credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in SSCE/NECO obtained in not more than two sittings.

Applicants must also possess at least two passes in any of the following:

• GCE A' Level
• Diploma with Upper Credit
• NCE with a minimum of 10 points
• Relevant professional qualifications

Candidates should ensure that their qualifications are relevant to their proposed programmes.

APPLICATION FEE AND DEADLINE

The application fee is ₦15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Naira only).

The fee is non-refundable and is payable through the REMITA payment platform. Applicants should note that applicable Remita processing charges may apply.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The application portal will close on Friday, 30th October, 2026.

All interested candidates are advised to complete their applications before the deadline. Applications submitted after the closing date may not be considered.

3. Select "AVAILABLE PORTAL" under the "APPLY NOW" menu.
4. Click on "Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education."
5. Fill in the required biodata and other necessary information.
6. Follow the instructions to make payment and generate your Application Number.
7. Re-login using your Application Number and Surname in small letters.
8. Click on "APPLICATION FORM" to complete and submit the application.

LECTURE SCHEDULE
