UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS ANNOUNCES 2026/2027 POST-UTME SCREENING EXERCISE: ELIGIBILITY, REGISTRATION DATES AND REQUIREMENTS

The University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, has officially announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise for candidates seeking admission into its various undergraduate programmes.

As one of Nigeria's most competitive and prestigious universities, UNILAG has released detailed guidelines outlining registration procedures, eligibility requirements, screening dates, and important admission policies that prospective candidates must strictly adhere to.

Registration and Screening Schedule

The university has approved the following timeline for the admission screening exercise:

Registration Period

  • Opening Date: Monday, June 15, 2026
  • Closing Date: Wednesday, July 8, 2026

Post-UTME Online Aptitude Test

  • Date: Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31, 2026

O'Level Result Upload Deadline

Candidates are required to upload their O'Level results on both the JAMB CAPS portal and the UNILAG admission portal on or before:

  • Friday, August 14, 2026

Failure to upload results within the stipulated period may affect admission consideration.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise, candidates must satisfy all of the following conditions:

Minimum UTME Score

Applicants must have scored at least 200 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

First Choice Institution

Only candidates who selected the University of Lagos as their first-choice institution during JAMB registration are eligible for the screening exercise.

O'Level Requirements

Candidates must possess:

  • Five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects.
  • Credits must include English Language and Mathematics.
  • All required credits must be obtained at one sitting only.

The university has emphasized that it will not consider candidates who combine results from multiple sittings.

Age Requirement

Applicants must be at least 16 years old on or before September 30, 2026.

Candidates who do not meet the minimum age requirement will not be considered for admission regardless of their academic performance.

Mandatory Online Aptitude Test

UNILAG has stated that participation in the online Post-UTME aptitude test is compulsory for all eligible candidates.

Any candidate who fails to participate in the screening test will automatically lose the opportunity to be considered for admission into the university.

UNILAG's Zero-Tolerance Policy on Drug Abuse

The university has reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe and disciplined learning environment through its strict anti-drug policy.

According to the institution, all admitted candidates may be subjected to mandatory drug screening either before registration or during their period of study.

Any student found guilty of drug abuse or who tests positive for prohibited substances will face immediate withdrawal of admission or other disciplinary actions as determined by the university.
