UNIZIK ASUU SUSPENDS WITHDRAWAL OF SERVICES, DIRECTS MEMBERS TO RESUME DUTIES
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU) Branch, has announced the immediate suspension of its withdrawal of services following the payment of the complete August 2026 salary to all members.
In a statement dated September 11, 2026, the ASUU-NAU Branch Executive recalled that members had resolved to withdraw their services pending the full payment of their August salary, following the union’s Congress resolution and notice issued on September 7, 2026.
FULL AUGUST 2026 SALARY PAID
The union confirmed that the complete August 2026 salary has now been paid to all members.
Following the payment, the branch has directed the immediate suspension of the withdrawal of services with effect from Friday, September 11, 2026.
ASUU-NAU MEMBERS DIRECTED TO RESUME DUTIES
All ASUU-NAU members have been directed to immediately resume their academic and administrative responsibilities.
These include:
- Teaching and lectures
- Student supervision
- Marking of scripts
- Committee meetings
- Submission of students’ results
- Other academic and administrative duties
UNION COMMENDS MEMBERS
ASUU-NAU commended its members for their resoluteness, unity, and discipline throughout the period of the withdrawal of services.
The union noted that the solidarity and collective action of members contributed to the positive outcome.
Members were also urged to remain vigilant and continue to monitor developments concerning the union.
ASUU-NAU stated that further official updates would be communicated through its established platforms.
