ADMISSION FRAUD ALERT – CROSS RIVER STATE COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES, OBUDU
Share

The Management of the Cross River State College of Nursing Sciences, Obudu, wishes to alert the general public, particularly prospective applicants, to the activities of scammers and fraudulent individuals. These persons are currently operating fake social media accounts and websites to extort money from unsuspecting candidates under the guise of selling 2026/2027 admission forms.

OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION ON ADMISSIONS

To prevent financial loss and protect the integrity of our admission process, stakeholders must take note of the following:

  • No Third-Party Agents: The College has not authorized any individual, agent, or cybercafé to act as an intermediary for the sale of forms or the processing of admissions.
  • Payment Methods: Official payments are never made into personal bank accounts or via mobile money transfers. All legitimate financial transactions follow the State’s official payment gateway or Treasury Single Account (TSA) protocols.
  • Official Communication: Information regarding the commencement of form sales, entrance examinations, and interview dates is only released through official government gazettes, the State Ministry of Health, or the College’s verified administrative office.

IDENTIFYING SCAM TACTICS

Applicants should be wary of the following red flags:

  • Direct Messages (DMs): Requests for payment sent via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or Telegram.
  • Pressure Tactics: Claims that the admission list is "almost full" or that "slots are being reserved" for those who pay immediately.
  • Unofficial Links: Websites that do not end in official government or academic domains.
