The National Universities Commission (NUC) has released the results of its October/November 2025 accreditation exercise, granting full accreditation status to a wide range of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes at Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo State.
In a significant expansion of the institution's academic portfolio, the Commission has also approved the establishment of three new undergraduate programmes, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.
I. FULLY ACCREDITED PROGRAMMES (2025 EXERCISE)
The NUC, acting under the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, confirmed that the following programmes met the required national minimum academic standards:
Faculty of Administration and Management Sciences (Postgraduate)
- M.Sc. Accounting
- M.Sc. Finance
- M.Sc. Business Administration
Faculty of Education (Undergraduate)
- Education Computer Science
- Education Economics
- Education English Language
- Guidance and Counselling
Faculty of Allied Health Sciences
- Radiography and Radiation Science
II. NEW UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME APPROVALS
Following a successful resource assessment visit by a panel of experts, the Executive Secretary of the NUC conveyed approval on February 10, 2026, for the university to begin offering the following full-time programmes at the main campus:
- B.Sc. Broadcasting
- B.Sc. Journalism and Media Studies
- B.Sc. Information and Media Studies
These media-focused offerings are scheduled to commence in the 2025/2026 academic session.
III. VICE-CHANCELLOR’S REMARKS
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, has expressed immense satisfaction with these results. She described the dual success of full accreditation and new programme approvals as a "resounding vote of confidence" in the academic and infrastructural standards maintained by Ajayi Crowther University.
