The management of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has issued a strong disclaimer over a fraudulent admission letter currently being circulated online and across various social media platforms, falsely claiming to be an official admission offer for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

The University described the document as false, misleading, and not issued by Babcock University, urging prospective students, parents, guardians, and the general public to disregard it completely.

Fake Admission Letter Did Not Originate from Babcock

According to the University, the admission letter currently in circulation did not emanate from Babcock University and should not be regarded as authentic.

The management emphasized that admission offers are never communicated through WhatsApp messages, social media flyers, or unofficial platforms. Instead, all admission decisions are processed strictly through the University's official admission system, with successful applicants receiving their admission letters through approved institutional channels.

University Rejects Fake Payment Request

Babcock University also dismissed claims contained in the fraudulent document requesting applicants to pay ₦810,000 into a Wema Bank account (Account No. 7353747257).

The institution stated categorically that it has not authorized any admission-related payment into personal bank accounts or any account circulated through unofficial sources.

The University further clarified that it has not introduced any admission package offering free laptops and textbooks, describing such claims as another attempt by fraudsters to deceive unsuspecting applicants.

Fake Official Designation Identified

The management also pointed out that the fraudulent document bears the designation "Registrar Admissions", a position that does not exist at Babcock University.

It specifically noted that Dr. Joshua Suleiman is not a Registrar Admissions at Babcock University, warning that any document carrying such designation should immediately be treated as fake.

To avoid falling victim to scammers, Babcock University advised applicants to verify every admission-related information only through its official platforms.

Report Fraud Immediately

The University urged anyone who may have made payments or shared personal details in response to the fake admission letter to immediately report the incident to the nearest law enforcement agency and also notify Babcock University for appropriate action.
