Bayero University, Kano Announces Resumption Date for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has officially announced that the 2025/2026 academic session will commence on Monday, May 18, 2026, with full academic activities expected to begin immediately across all faculties and departments.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, on behalf of the Registrar, the university has concluded all necessary preparations to ensure a smooth and successful take-off of the new session. Lecture timetables have already been released and displayed on faculty and departmental notice boards, while course details and registration codes have been uploaded to the university portal to facilitate seamless student registration.

The university further directed all faculty officers to ensure that lecture halls, classrooms, and theatres are properly cleaned and fully prepared ahead of resumption. Deans, Heads of Departments, and Faculty Examination Officers have also been instructed to put all required arrangements in place to guarantee the immediate commencement of lectures from the first day of resumption.

Students have been strongly advised to attend lectures promptly and regularly, as the university emphasized that any academic time lost may not be recovered later in the session.

In addition, the Vice-Chancellor’s Monitoring Team is expected to begin inspection visits across faculties and departments from Monday, May 18, 2026, to ensure strict compliance with lecture schedules and academic activities.

The management also urged Deans and Heads of Departments to adequately mobilize lecturers, instructors, and academic technologists to support the smooth commencement of teaching and learning activities throughout the institution.
