UNIPORT ACE-PUTOR Opens Postgraduate Admission Portal for 2026/2027 Academic Session
The Africa Centre of Excellence in Public Health and Toxicological Research (ACE-PUTOR), University of Port Harcourt, has officially commenced admissions into its postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into the Centre’s specialized postgraduate programmes designed to advance research, innovation, and professional capacity in public health, toxicology, nursing, environmental health, and related disciplines.
According to the Centre, all programmes are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) as well as the Royal Society of Biology, reflecting ACE-PUTOR’s commitment to international standards in teaching, research, and professional training.

ACE-PUTOR offers admission into Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes across several specialized fields.

Admission Requirements
The Centre outlined the following admission requirements for prospective candidates:
PGD Programmes
Applicants must possess:
- An HND with Upper Credit in a related discipline, or
- A First Degree with at least Second Class Lower Division for candidates seeking a career transition into a related field.
M.Sc. Programmes
Candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division.
Ph.D. Programmes
Applicants must possess:
- A completed Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.
Nursing Programmes
Candidates applying for nursing-related programmes must also possess valid professional licenses issued by the appropriate regulatory bodies.
Duration of Programmes
The duration of the programmes are as follows:
PGD and M.Sc.
- Full-Time: 12 months
- Part-Time: 24 months
Ph.D.
- Full-Time: 36 months
- Part-Time: 48 months
Method of Application
Interested candidates are required to submit completed application forms alongside reference letters, statements of purpose, and relevant academic credentials on or before Friday, 17th July, 2026.

The Centre also disclosed that limited scholarship opportunities are available for qualified candidates.
