FEDERAL UNIVERSITY DUTSE (FUD) ISSUES GUIDELINES FOR NELFUND CHANGE OF INSTITUTION AND PROGRAMME APPLICATION FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
The management of Federal University Dutse (FUD), through its Bursary Department and NELFund Unit, has released important guidelines for students who wish to update their institution or programme details on the NELFund portal ahead of the 2026/2027 academic session.
According to a circular dated 1st September, 2026, the university disclosed that applications for the 2026/2027 NELFund Student Loan Scheme will soon commence and urged affected students to complete the necessary update process before the application portal opens.
Who Should Apply?
The notice is specifically for students who:
- Previously applied for a Change of Institution or Change of Programme.
- Intend to apply for a change of institution or programme.
- Have noticed that their updated institution or programme has not yet reflected on the NELFund portal.
The university advised such students to submit a fresh application through the institution's NELFund Desk to facilitate the update.

The application should clearly state the reason for requesting the change and include all the required personal and academic details.

- Old Matriculation Number
- New Matriculation Number
- Old JAMB Registration Number
- New JAMB Registration Number
- Old Institution
- New Institution
- Old Programme
- New Programme
- Level in Old Programme
- Level in New Programme
- Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Application ID (to be completed by the NELFund Office)
- Phone Number
- Email Address
Applicants are advised to ensure that all information provided is accurate to avoid delays in processing their requests.
Important Notice
The university emphasized that all affected students must follow the prescribed format when submitting their applications to enable the successful update of their institution or programme details on the NELFund portal before the commencement of the 2026/2027 NELFund application exercise.
Students are encouraged to act promptly to avoid any issues that may affect their eligibility for the upcoming student loan application.
