DUTSIN-MA, KATSINA STATE — The *Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA)* has achieved a significant milestone in its pursuit of academic quality, securing full accreditation for 19 academic programmes. This follows the comprehensive accreditation exercise conducted by the *National Universities Commission (NUC)* in late 2025.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Khalid Othman, officially announced the results during the university’s 139th Regular Senate Meeting held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
I. ACCREDITATION SUMMARY
During the October/November 2025 exercise, the NUC evaluated a total of 30 programmes across various faculties. The breakdown of the results is as follows:
- Full Accreditation: 19 Programmes
- Interim Accreditation: 11 Programmes
- Overall Performance: A strong reflection of the university's commitment to quality assurance and community service.
II. LEADERSHIP AND INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT
Professor Othman highlighted that these successes were the result of continuous efforts from both past and present leadership. He specifically commended:
- Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi (Former Vice-Chancellor)
- Prof. Aminu Ado (Former Acting Vice-Chancellor)
- Directorate of Academic Planning and Monitoring: Led by Professor Daud Mustafa, the directorate was praised for its seamless coordination of the rigorous process.
The Vice-Chancellor also extended his appreciation to the *Deans, Heads of Departments (HODs), academic and administrative staff*, and the students for their collective dedication during the visitation.
