FULAFIA Appoints New Substantive Bursar and University Librarian

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has approved the appointment of Mr. Ovye James Aboki as the substantive Bursar of the institution.

The Council also approved the appointment of Prof. Abdulrazaq Baba Abdulrahman as the new University Librarian.

The appointments were announced during the 12th Extra-Ordinary Meeting of the Governing Council held at the Council Chamber of the university’s Permanent Site Campus.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Her Excellency Ambassador-designate Mrs. Lola Fibisola Akande, was represented by Dr. Amos Gizo.

According to the university management, Mr. Ovye James Aboki’s appointment as Bursar takes effect from May 14, 2026, and will run for a single tenure of five years.

Similarly, Prof. Abdulrazaq Baba Abdulrahman will assume office as University Librarian from July 3, 2026, also for a five-year term.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, alongside representatives of the Federal Character Commission, the Federal Ministry of Education, members of the Governing Council, Senate representatives, and members of the university community, expressed satisfaction with the transparent appointment process.

The university community also extended goodwill messages to the newly appointed principal officers, wishing them a successful and impactful tenure in office.

The appointments are expected to further strengthen the administrative and academic development of the Federal University of Lafia.
