FUNAAB SCHEDULES ORIENTATION/ICT TRAINING FOR FRESH STUDENTS OF THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has scheduled September 14–18, 2026, for the Orientation Programme and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Training for students admitted for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

According to a Press Statement by the Ag. Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide, the 5-Day programme is designed to provide fresh students with essential information to facilitate a smooth transition into university life, while acquainting them with the University’s academic and administrative structures, rules, facilities and support services.

Mr. Olajide stated that the first two days of the Orientation Programme, Monday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 15, would bring together newly admitted students from all Colleges at the Prof. Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building.

He said students from the College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM), College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD), College of Biosciences (COLBIOS), College of Computing Sciences (COLCOMPS), College of Entrepreneurial and Development Studies (COLENDS), College of Engineering (COLENG), College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC), College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS), College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT), and the College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET) are scheduled to participate in the Orientation Programme from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on both days.

He further disclosed that the programme would continue on Wednesday, September 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m, with students from COLAMRUD, COLENDS, COLENG and COLPHYS at the Prof. Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building, while students from COLANIM, COLBIOS, COLFHEC and COLVET are scheduled for Thursday, September 17, within the same time frame and venue.

According to him, students from COLCOMPS, the College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM) and COLPLANT would round off the Orientation Programme on Friday, September 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m, at the Prof. Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building.

On the ICT component, the Ag. Head explained that the training is aimed at equipping fresh students with essential digital skills and tools required for effective participation in academic activities and other University processes.

He said students from COLCOMPS, COLERM and COLPLANT would have their ICT Training on Wednesday, September 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Prof. Olusola Oyewole Lecture Theatre, while those from COLAMRUD, COLENDS, COLENG and COLPHYS are scheduled for Thursday, September 17, within the same time frame and venue.

Mr. Olajide added that students from COLANIM, COLBIOS, COLFHEC and COLVET would participate in the ICT Training on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m, at the Prof. Olusola Oyewole Lecture Theatre.

He urged all newly admitted students to take note of their respective schedules and participate fully in the programme, stressing that the Orientation and ICT Training would provide the new students with the foundational knowledge, institutional awareness and digital competencies required for a successful academic experience at FUNAAB.
