FUTA ANNOUNCES 200TH INAUGURAL LECTURE

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced the hosting of its historic 200th Inaugural Lecture, marking a significant milestone in the University's academic journey and commitment to research excellence.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, FAS, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff, Students, and the entire University Community, cordially invites members of the public, scholars, researchers, industry professionals, alumni, and friends of the University to attend the landmark academic event.

The inaugural lecture series remains one of the University's prestigious academic traditions, providing a platform for distinguished professors to share their research contributions, scholarly experiences, and insights on issues of national and global importance.

LECTURE TITLE

"Productivity of Unseen Allies in Conducive and Unconducive Environments: A Great Wonder!"

The lecture is expected to provide valuable insights into the role of microorganisms and environmental factors in enhancing productivity across different ecological conditions.

INAUGURAL LECTURER

The lecture will be delivered by Professor Fatuyi Olanipekun Ekundayo, a distinguished Professor of Applied Soil and Environmental Microbiology and one of the University's respected scholars.

Professor Ekundayo obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Ibadan and has made remarkable contributions to teaching, research, and community development in the field of microbiology.

He is a member of several reputable professional bodies, including:

  • Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM)
  • Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN)
  • American Society for Microbiology (ASM)
  • Nigerian Society for Plant Protection (NSPP)

His research interests span environmental microbiology, soil microbial ecology, biotechnology, and sustainable agricultural development.
