FUTA WARNS CANDIDATES AGAINST ADMISSION RACKETEERS AND IMPOSTORS FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The management of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has issued a strong warning to prospective candidates, parents, guardians, and members of the public regarding the activities of fraudsters and admission racketeers falsely claiming to offer admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the university, its attention has been drawn to the activities of some unscrupulous individuals who are attempting to defraud unsuspecting candidates by promising admission into FUTA in exchange for money and other forms of gratification.

The institution emphasized that admission into FUTA, like other tertiary institutions in Nigeria, is conducted strictly under the supervision of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The admission process is transparent, carefully monitored, and protected from both internal and external manipulation.

FUTA clarified that at the moment, the university is only conducting the registration process for candidates seeking admission into the institution. The admission exercise has not yet reached the stage where offers are being made, and no candidate has been offered admission for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The university therefore urged all intending candidates, their parents, sponsors, and the general public to disregard any individual or group claiming to have the ability to secure admission into FUTA. Such claims are false, misleading, and intended to exploit unsuspecting applicants.

Furthermore, FUTA strongly advised candidates and their guardians not to pay money to anyone for the purpose of checking results, uploading O'Level results, influencing admission decisions, or facilitating admission in any form.

The institution reiterated that admission into FUTA is strictly merit-based and cannot be influenced by any person or organization regardless of status or position.

The university encouraged candidates to obtain information about the admission process only through official FUTA communication channels and authorized announcements.

FUTA remains committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and integrity in its admission process and urges everyone to remain vigilant against scammers seeking to take advantage of admission seekers.
