The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the postponement of the 2026 Batch 'B' Stream I Orientation Course for Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) deployed to Niger State.
According to an official statement released by the scheme, the postponement became necessary due to the ongoing renovation of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Paiko, Niger State. The renovation exercise is being carried out by the Niger State Government following the extensive damage caused by a recent windstorm that affected parts of the camp facilities.
NYSC explained that the decision was taken to ensure the safety, comfort, and overall welfare of Prospective Corps Members who are expected to participate in the orientation exercise. As a result, the scheduled commencement of the Orientation Course in Niger State will no longer hold as previously planned.
The management further disclosed that urgent efforts are currently underway to secure a suitable alternative venue where the Orientation Course can be conducted. Once arrangements are finalized, a new date and other relevant details regarding the orientation exercise will be communicated to all affected Prospective Corps Members.
Affected PCMs are therefore advised to remain calm and regularly monitor official NYSC communication channels for updates and further directives concerning the exercise.
The NYSC Management expressed regret over any inconvenience the postponement may cause to Prospective Corps Members and their families. It also thanked all stakeholders for their patience, understanding, and cooperation during this period.
