GAYA POLYTECHNIC ANNOUNCES RECRUITMENT FOR ACADEMIC AND NON-ACADEMIC STAFF

The Gaya Polytechnic, Kano State, has announced a massive recruitment exercise for qualified candidates to fill various academic and non-academic positions as the newly established institution prepares to commence full academic and administrative operations.

The Polytechnic, which was established in 2025 by the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, said the recruitment exercise is aimed at attracting competent and experienced professionals who will contribute to its vision of delivering quality technical, vocational, and industry-driven education.

According to the official recruitment advertisement signed by Prof. Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, Chairman of the Gaya Polytechnic Implementation Committee, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates across several academic departments and administrative units.

Academic Vacancies

Applications are invited for positions in the following departments:

Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Computer Engineering

General Studies

The Polytechnic is also recruiting qualified candidates into several non-academic positions, including:

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must possess the relevant academic and professional qualifications required for their preferred positions.

Depending on the position applied for, candidates are expected to possess any of the following:

National Diploma (ND)
Higher National Diploma (HND)
Bachelor's Degree
Master's Degree
Doctorate Degree (where applicable)
Relevant professional certifications
Required years of cognate working experience

The Polytechnic also stated that applicants must be computer literate and, where necessary, be duly registered with the appropriate professional regulatory bodies.

Application Procedure

Interested applicants are required to submit:

Twenty (20) copies of a typed application letter
Twenty (20) copies of a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Photocopies of all relevant credentials

Applications should also include:

Evidence of date of birth/age
Educational certificates
NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate
Valid government-issued means of identification
Medical fitness certificate
Two recent passport photographs

Applicants must clearly indicate the position and department applied for on their application.

Important Information

The Polytechnic stated that:

Applicants joining the Public Service for the first time must be below 50 years of age at the time of resumption.
Serving officers in the Kano State Civil Service are not required to apply for the advertised positions.
The current recruitment advertisement cancels and supersedes Circular No. 1/2026, dated January 26, 2026, which earlier requested the deployment of staff from the Kano State Civil Service to the Polytechnic.
Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the next stage of the recruitment exercise.

Application Deadline

Applications must be submitted within four (4) weeks from the date of the advertisement.

The Polytechnic warned that late applications will not be considered.
