The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new arrangement that allows candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes.
The initiative is part of the Board’s efforts to make its services easier, faster, safer and more accessible to candidates by reducing unnecessary visits to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
Under the new system, JAMB will facilitate the verification of candidates’ O’Level results directly with the examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
CANDIDATES NO LONGER HAVE TO RELY ENTIRELY ON CBT CENTRES
With the new arrangement, candidates can initiate the verification and upload of their O’Level results from home, while JAMB verifies the submitted results directly against records held by the relevant examination bodies.
According to the Board, the move is designed to reduce queues, unnecessary trips to CBT centres and some of the challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads.
The technology-driven process is also expected to minimise issues such as misplaced or mixed-up paper results, submission of unverified or fraudulent results, and mistakes when manually entering subjects and grades.
Through the integration of JAMB’s eFacility platform with examination bodies, candidates’ results can be verified against official records before being uploaded to their JAMB profiles.
HOW TO VERIFY AND UPLOAD YOUR O’LEVEL RESULT
FIRST LEVEL: VERIFICATION OF RESULTS
1. Visit the official result verification portal.
2. Enter your NIN and click on “Verify NIN.”
3. Select the required number of sittings and choose the appropriate examination body or bodies. Then click “Continue.”
4. Enter your email address and GSM number and click “Pay Now.” You will be redirected to the payment gateway.
5. Make payment using your debit card or bank transfer.
6. After successful payment, enter your examination details, including:
- Examination number
- Examination series
- Examination year
7. Verify your result(s) based on the number of sittings selected and proceed to obtain your Verification Code.
SECOND LEVEL: UPLOAD OF O’LEVEL RESULTS
8. Send “VERIFY {Verification Code}” to 55019 or 66019.
9. Your result will be uploaded, and you will receive a notification.
10. Candidates with two sittings will receive a notification directing them to visit their profile on JAMB e-Facility.
11. Log in to your e-Facility dashboard and click on “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”
12. Enter your Verification Code. Your two verified results will then be displayed.
13. Select the required subjects from the displayed results. Candidates should ensure that:
- A minimum of 5 subjects is selected.
- A maximum of 9 subjects is selected.
- No subject is selected more than once.
14. Click on “Apply the O’Level Results.”
15. Once the upload is successful, you will receive a notification confirming the submission.
NEW SYSTEM TO MAKE O’LEVEL UPLOAD EASIER
JAMB explained that the verification service will provide candidates with a more convenient alternative, particularly during periods of high patronage at CBT centres and situations where candidates may experience network or accessibility challenges.
The Board believes that allowing candidates to complete the process remotely will improve service delivery while also making it easier for candidates to manage their admission-related requirements.
The initiative is also expected to strengthen the verification process by allowing JAMB to confirm candidates’ results directly with the examination bodies instead of relying solely on manually presented documents.
JAMB REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN SERVICES
The initiative forms part of the renewed commitment of JAMB’s sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to developing a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system.
The Board said it will continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates.
Candidates are therefore encouraged to make use of the new verification and upload process and ensure that the information submitted corresponds accurately with their official examination records.
