The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Original Result Slip will be available for printing within hours on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

The announcement was made by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, PCA, JAMB, who informed candidates and stakeholders that the result slip is an important document required for admission processing and Post-UTME applications across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

What the Original Result Slip Contains

Unlike the result notification slip, the Original UTME Result Slip contains additional information and security features, including:

  • Candidate's passport photograph
  • UTME score
  • National ranking
  • Registration details
  • Security verification features

The document serves as an official proof of a candidate's UTME performance and is often requested by universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions during admission processes.

Importance of the Original Result Slip

The Original Result Slip is one of the key documents required for:

  • Post-UTME registration
  • Admission screening exercises
  • Verification of UTME results
  • Clearance and admission processing
  • Other admission-related activities

Candidates are therefore advised to obtain and keep copies of the document for future use.

Printing Made Easy

According to JAMB, candidates can conveniently print their Original Result Slip from any internet-enabled device, including:

  • Personal computers
  • Smartphones
  • Cyber cafés
  • Accredited CBT centres
  • Business centres

This allows candidates to access the document from the comfort of their homes or offices without unnecessary stress.

Candidates Advised to Verify Details

JAMB has urged all candidates to carefully verify the information contained on the slip immediately after printing.

Candidates should ensure that their:

  • Names are correctly spelt
  • Passport photograph is visible
  • UTME score is accurate
  • Registration details are correct

Any discrepancy should be reported through the appropriate JAMB channels for necessary clarification.

Keep Your Result Slip Safe

Candidates are encouraged to keep both digital and printed copies of the Original Result Slip as it may be required at different stages of the admission process.

With many institutions already preparing for their 2026/2027 Post-UTME and admission screening exercises, obtaining the Original Result Slip early will help candidates avoid last-minute rush and complications.
